Our Families - John Simmons 1763-1844

This John Simmons married Leodosia Gore who is a descendant of George Soule who was one of the original settlers in the Plymouth Colony.

Their son, Luke R Simmons, was a prominent lawyer in NC, who moved to Pike Co AL to join the other Simmons families after the death of his parents.

DNA analysis shows that this Simmons line is related to the lines of Isaac 1786 and John 1766 but no direct connection could be identified.

Many families trees (including Ancestry, FamilySearch, WikiTree, etc) suggest that John and Leodosia were the parents of Isaac 1786 but this is considered unlikely since John and Leodosia weren't married until 1791. In her pension application, Leodosia lists her children, but Isaac wasn't listed.
